A STEP BEYOND BUSTLING

I've posted extensively and in great detail on bustle basics in the past: The difference between over and under bustling, built in versus a detachable train, what fabrics work best--that sort of thing.  Today I want to say a few words on looking at the bustle as an art from.  If you look at the back of your dress (with a train that eventually bustles) think of it as a blank canvas to which you can add trim, bows, florals, etc.  Once shaped, it becomes a miracle of soft sculpture.  Bustles are generally located in the back of a gown but not always.  Below you'll find a handful of  images showing some gorgeous and one off techniques in the fine art of bustling.
